  • Mairi - I totally agree that you should try to be in good shape before you get pregnant. Of course, not everyone is actively trying, but you’re doing yourself a favour to keep your physical health in a good state. And I mean, eat sensibly, try to walk for 20 minutes three times a week and keep caffeine and booze to a minimum. If you’re more into exercise do something strengthening-swimming, yoga etc as these serve you well both in pregnancy and afterwards in shirt and long term future.

Of course, you may end up like poor old Kate Middleton with hyperemesis, which I saw my friend suffer through. Her doctor’s advice when she was diagnosed with ketosis was ‘get calories any way you can. Try a McDonalds!’ And she managed to keep it down through pure force of will! So as ever, each pregnancy is it’s own bundle of challenges!ReplyCancel

    • Miss Vix - God yes I can’t imagine how horrific hyperemesis must be…i’ve been so lucky that the main conundrum has been figuring out exactly what this baby wants to eat each day! I have a rule of thumb, if my train is late or i’ve missed it then its serendipity saying oooh now you can have that hot sausage roll/cheeseburger we thought about at 8am today!!!ReplyCancel
